Confirmation FormWritten by Wayne Whitney on Feb 03, 2014
If you are interested in Confirmation, Reception, or Reaffirmation at Nativity, please fill out the form below. Here is the difference between the three:
Confirmation is laying on of hands by an Episcopal bishop in order to confirm, as an adult, the promises others made for you at your baptism, or to confirm your desire to be a member of The Episcopal Church.
Reception occurs if you have previously been confirmed in the Roman Catholic, Orthodox, or ELCA Lutheran churches, and now wish to become a member of The Episcopal Church.
Reaffirmation occurs if you were previously confirmed as an Episcopalian, but now would like to reaffirm those vows.
The next scheduled Confirmation/Reception/Reaffirmation date at Nativity is Sunday, June 8, when our Presiding Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, will be visiting. Our own Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Kirk Smith, will also be visiting that day, and will actually perform the confirmations.
